PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Fevicol ANR 171 is PTFE based anaerobic thixotropic Thread Sealant which is designed for locking and sealing of metal pipes & fittings, pneumatic fittings and hydraulic line applications. It tolerates realignment and adjustment of fittings during installation. On full cure it prevents loosening and leakage from shock and vibration.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS:

• Single component Thixotropic Paste.  
• Solvent less, No flash point in liquid state.
• Fills gaps upto 0.5 mm.
• Good resistance to all usual fluids, gases, chemicals. 
• Temperature resistance upto 180 o C  

APPLICATION AREAS: 

1) As a Thread Sealant (Coarse threads) to seal pipe joints and fittings in all types of service such as water, steam, fuel, vacuum & chemicals.
2) Medium strength makes it suitable for easy removal on metals like Aluminium, Brass and other soft metal fittings.
 
METHOD OF APPLICATION:

1) Surface Preparation: Clean the metal surface with clean cotton cloth to remove dust and with solvent to remove oil, grease etc. Degreasing solvent like Trichloroethylene can be used to remove oil and grease effectively.
2) Apply Fevicol ANR 171 to male & female fitting threads uniformly in sufficient quantities. Force the material into the threads to fill the voids thoroughly.
3) Assemble and tighten fittings until proper alignment is obtained.
4) Properly tightened fittings will seal instantly to moderate pressures. Allow to cure for 24 hours to obtain maximum pressure resistance & solvent resistance

CURING:

Speed of curing depends on various factors such as :
Type of Metal : Copper & brass – Very fast
Steel - Fast
Pure Aluminium – Slow
Some plated surfaces like Zinc and cadmium are slow.
Temperature : Higher the temperature faster the cure & vice versa.
Gap Filling : Thin bond line cures faster than thick bond line.
Cleanliness : Curing is faster on clean Surfaces.

SHELF LIFE: The Shelf life in the original sealed packing is 15 months from date of manufacture when stored as per instructions mentioned above.

APPLICATION AREAS:

Fevicol ANR 142 is a formulated low viscosity anaerobic specially designed for sealing & hydraulic & refrigeration fitting, joints & coupling. Its mild locking strength allows brass fittings to be removed without ruining them.

APPLICATION AREAS: 100 Min As a medium strength locking & sealing compound for hydraulic refrigeration fittings, joints & couplings for the finest hydraulic & refrigeration mechanisms. It can be used on flared & compression fittings as well as on tapered & straight threads. It is also ideal for Non hydraulic applications such as soft metals (Aluminum & Brass), long engagement screws. 

TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE: The cured adhesive forms a thermoset bond. The cured mass will not melt with heat. It’s operating temperature range is –60 to 150 0 C.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Applications include rotor to shafts in fractional and sub fractional horsepower motors. It is particularly suitable for heavy duty applications such as studs into motor housings, nuts onto studs in pump housings and other fasteners where maximum strength is required. Locks bushings and sleeves in housings on shafts. Material is not sensitive to moisture, but is sensitive to UV light and heat. It will not cure if exposed to oxygen.
